Hi all -

I have not been on these boards in 2+ years but am pregnant with my second child

and need some advice. My son (almost 3) had torticollis and

plagio/brachy.......I want to be prepared for #2 baby to also be born with tort

and be prepared to repo from day one (unlike last time when we didn't really

catch on until he was 2-3 mo old and by then a lot of damage had been done

already to his poor head shape!). I am very small framed so I expect all of my

children may end up with some 'stuck baby' syndrome in utero. I plan to do a lot

more baby wearing with this new baby to keep him out of bouncers/swings.

I want to invest in a couple baby slings/carriers but there are SO many products

out there - can anyone provide input on what slings or carriers have worked best

for you all who have tried repositioning and baby wearing to prevent and/or

correct brachy/plagio? I want something I can use with a newborn and also

something that will grow with us. I have heard ergo baby is good but that seems

better for the 3+ month babies. What about slings/pouches/wraps? What have you

had success with?

Hi ,

I had to respond after reading your post. My son had tort which led to plagio so while in Germany having number 2 I noticed wingbo. I recognized that it would have helped with my son who was then 4 and I was determined to help prevent a misshapen head with my daughter. I felt so strongly about wingbo that I brought it back to North America and started on the road to awareness here. See if this is something that you have been looking for www.wingbousa.com , it is currently being used in early intervention settings across the US. I hope that number 2 is finding more room in utero but if not then she is lucky that you have such an awareness and pro-active approach.

All the best,

i saw that a few months back, it looks so cool, i would have gotten one (and we didnt have plagio this time so didnt need repo or anything but it looked so fun) if it had been more like the price of an exersaucer or swin but it was too pricey for something sight unseen for me
