Hi all -

I've noticed that most everyone who has posted about after surgery

has been wired shut. I'm having surgery (upper and lower) in Aug and

my OS has said that I'm not going to be wired shut but will have rigid

internal fixation - just little screws inside that will hold the bones

together; I'll still be on a very soft diet for 6 weeks but I should

be able to move my mouth right away.

Has anyone else had this done instead of the wiring? Also how common

is the numbness that is talked about - I hadn't really thought about

it but it's kinda freaking me out a little now...

thanks

Cyndy
