Guest guest
On my first post I mentioned that I do have Multiple sclerosis (MS). My MS is not bad at all, mainly my big complaint is fatigue. However, some people with MS lose control of their bowels and I guess this is what I am afraid of that the DS surgery will be the breaking point for me and make my BM's uncontrollable. Right now I am thinking more and more of just getting the " sleeve " part done. Tia As a person who also has had MS for at least 21 years, and this is strictly my opinion, If you develop lesions in the brain or spine that effect your bowel, you then will have some degree of Bowel failure whether it be loose, constipation and/or as I have had no warning at all and as for bladder lack of control and /or no warning. These can happen operation or no operation. The main thing here is to be comfortable enough with your decision about your quality of life as it is now, to have come to this juncture in making a decision that could in all likelyhood at least slow the process of this incurable disease which is exacerbated by the stress of the weight you carry causing the unwanted fatigue and added stress which we all know leads to more full blown MS attacks leaving more damage each time we succumb to it's will. Since the weight gain in 1987, I have had to quit bowling I was in 3 leagues, stop working, gone from a cane, to a scooter and now a wheelchair, I have difficulty going upstairs, therefore my bed is downstairs, we need to either get an elevator or find the space to build another full bathroom. If the weight was gone, I could quite reasonably at least be able to climb the stairs and I might just be able to stand at the sink or counter to wash and peel vegetables, lift my grandaughter for a hug. This to me is well worth the chance of possible inflictions that I could get anyway. Is this helping or am I just babbling. Love and Hugs to all http://phoenixrisng.www6.50megs.com http://ca.geocities.com/phoenixrisngca/blue.html
