Guest guest
I finally have to watch what I put in my mouth. For the first time, in over 21 years, NOTHING makes me sick. Not ice cream, not spicy foods, not carbs of any shape or form. I had come to rely on knowing what made me sick or dump as my guide. I'm hoping that my past experience has become habit, and I don't change my habits just because I CAN. Fortunately, my pouch is still small (my original surgery reduced it to 30 cc), and I fill up very fast. I lost the 15 pounds I wanted post surgery, and it doesn't seem to be creeping up at all This is a relief, after 20 years at or below MY goal. The only negative side effect I've noticed, other than the ability to eat anything, is diarrhea. But, from what I've read, this is normal after gall bladder removal. My mother, who had her gall bladder out when she had her original WLS, said this will resolve itself in time. Other than that, I'm feeling great, and getting my strength back, and still trying to not overdo things. My surgeon told me to take it easy for 6 weeks, so I don't rip anything loose. 3 weeks down, 3 to go...I'm ready to start riding my horses again and getting some remodeling finished on my house...
