Since the no-kill shelter simply couldn't take her and we knew the local pound would have euthanized her, we took her in. Or I should say we "bought" her -- a few days and $500+ later she was ours for keeps. And then there's our expensive current cat problem: For any of you who believe in the power of prayer, I would invite you to pray for one of our other cats, 3-year-old Hedwig, who we got last August. (Nothing weird, I say, about praying for animals; they are marvelous creations of God, and he cares what happens to them.) Hedwig has a large growth on her side, and raised calcium levels, which could likely indicate a cancerous tumor. We'll find out for sure after a biopsy the week after next.
