One good piece of advice I did get was to call my alumni association (college) and they have med insurance. I would have gone with them had I not waited for the work ins. The best policy he carried was great coverage and only $330.00 a month for both my husband and I, that also included Dental and Optical. The difference is that I am not buying insurance as an independent person I am buying into a group called Michigan Self Employed and Small Business owners, therefore you do not have to pay those outragious premimums.
