Guest guest
Kim, Sorry to hear about your troubles with the Markells. The s are great, I think you will love them! The major difference is the time it takes to get them on. It is crutial to have the middle tongue in the correct place when you buckle them up. You should buckle the middle strap first. It will take some getting used to to get them just right. usually sends the shoes already attached to the bar for first time users, and correct buckling directions. If that is the case, there shouldn't be any problem using them right away. There will be no way Maddie can get out of the s. She probably won't even try, they are so comfy! Please let us know how it goes once you receive them. Good luck. I think it will be better. Kim wrote: Hi all~ Maddie has been in the Markell shoes (23/1) for two months. During that time, we have changed shoes three times, changed bars four times and changed Doctors once. We are seeing Dr. Herzenberg (love him....) now and all was well with Maddie until about 2 weeks ago. She started slipping out of the right shoe (Markells). I adjusted, re-adjusted, tightened, and then when I was finished, I would have to adjust again. Dr. Herzenberg wanted to see her, so we went in this morning. The PT that works with him put Maddie's shoe on... it could still slip out. HE put her shoes on and commented... " there Houdini, now try to get out. " Sure enough, her foot could still slip out. Ah, it was not just me :) Maddie is now almost 5 months old and rolling all over the place with her shoes and bar. Typically, no problems when she is sleeping, but every once in a while, that shoeless right foot makes an appearance. So today, Dr. Herzenberg decided that we should switch to the s. Now my question..... What do I need to know about the s? I know that those that have them, love them! We did the impressions today with Dr. H and off they go to Iowa. For other patients of Dr. H, he now keeps some of the impression kits at his office. So, my understanding is that in a couple of weeks a mini pair of berkenstock -like sandals will show up at my house. Once they arrive, we will go see Dr. H again to get situated. Is there any major adjustment period b/w the Markells and s? Do I need to do anything to the sandals (I saw a post regarding varnish)? Are there any funny nuances about these shoes that I should expect? Does BCBS really cover them? So many questions... We has such a bad transition into the Markells (really b/c of the previous doctor), I am just trying to find out as much information a head of time. THANKS!!!!
