Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm new on this list... pretty much just lurking, and learning as much as I can so that I can convince my family of the need to put my 3.5 year old son, Hunter, on the GFCF diet. Here's my question: Are any of your kids GFCF and also don't get any sugar? Right now, we have Hunter on what I call a " healthy diet. " He does not get anything that is processed or refined. Basically, all of his foods are natural. A typical lunch/dinner: homemade beef stew (just potatoes, carrots, beef, and corn), mashed potatoes with butter, some pureed baby veggies, plain yogurt mixed with a chopped up banana and pureed baby fruit, plain applesauce mixed either with stevia and ground cinnamon OR with banana and pureed baby fruit, and either a GFCF cookie (it's the only kind I could find that was sugar-free, and it just so happens that it's also GFCF) or a few organic cinnamon graham crackers. Hunter eats really well; he's not picky. We've been " sugar-free " (with the exception of natural sugars like you find in fruits) since end of April, and if/when we do go GFCF, I would like to continue this. Many of the recipes I've seen call for sugar... is there a substitute? I know I could probably just use honey... but I was curious if anyone else also does not let their child have sugar. Thanks, Marcie
