Guest guest
I found a essential fatty acid flax oil blend (liquid) at one of my local health food stores today. It is called Essential Balance Jr., and it is by Omega Nutrition. It is in the refrigerated section. Its ingredients are " unrefined certified organic oils of flax, sunflower/safflower, pumpkin, borage & sesame, natural butterscotch flavor. " I called the company because I was concerned about the flavoring, and they stated that their product does not contain any form of nut, dairy, or gluten-containing products, and that it is free of all artificial flavors and colors. Yeah! It contains 32 mg. GLA, 4900 mg. Omega 3 Fatty Acids, 4900 mg. Omega 6 Fatty Acids, and 2700 mg. Omega 9 Fatty Acids. It was $7.50/8 oz. The dose for a young child is 1 tsp. daily, so that is really not bad. I tasted it; it's okay, and would easily mix with milk substitute, I think. For those of you in the Indianapolis and surrounding areas, I found two great health food stores: 1. town Market--Indianapolis, IN (great for supplements, personal care products, frozen goods, flours, some other dry goods, etc.). 2. Back in Time--Avon, IN (has just about everything, but not as big a frozen section as town Foods). Back in Time is a pleasant surprise. They cater to celiacs. They carry most of Kinnikituck ALTA Line, Ener-G, Van's Waffles (the right ones), GFCF supplements, etc. I looked around their store, and I estimated 1/2 to 2/3 of it to be GFCF (I found just a few labels that weren't)! This excites me, because I've hesitated going gluten-free because I am not a great cook. Milk-free is the easiest. We did try the donuts; they were yummy! I also found gelatin-free gummy bears at both stores, for those who are interested. Yeah for me!
