Seven weeks is very early in the diet. Could be she's still dealing

with gluten opioids in her system, and you will see another rise

after this episode of regression (which may actually be withdrawal).

When my child went cold turkey gfcf, he made great progress at first,

then regressed during week 4. I thought the diet had stopped

working, but it was actually gluten withdrawal. After several days,

he began to progress again.

Here's what you don't want to hear (lol): sometimes (often?) when

the child has been gfcf for awhile, other food reactions become more

obvious. The good news is that these problem foods are now easier to

detect, especially if you keep a journal, including not only foods,

but also household products of all types. Also, any environmental

exposures outside of the home - eg, did you visit in a friend's home,

go to the mall, daycare, etc.

Some common food issues, besides soy & corn, are bananas, fruit

juices, nutrasweet, nitrates, food coloring, msg. It takes a little

menu planning, but one by one, remove the suspected food for 10 to 14

days, then put it back in, noting any changes.

After settling into the diet over a few months, I began to slowly

clean up our diet more (primarily by switching over to organic foods

and eliminating alot of our chemically laced snacks), and my child

continues to move forward. However, the progress is not as dramatic

as the early days - it's much slower, more steady, more easily noted

over weeks rather than days.
