Guest guest
Dorsoflexion is the flexability they have in an upwards motion. Yes, the bar needs to be bent to prevent relapse, or you may have just did the Tenotomy for nothing. The bar needs to be bent between 10-15 degrees. This can be done at home with the correct tools, or take it to your orthopedist or any other and have them bent it for you. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Guest guest
Amy- Which bar is Noah wearing? Some bars are bent at the end where the shoes are attached and some bars are bent in the middle. If you have the red adjustable bar, it is bent at the ends and is barely noticeable. If it is the gold bar(non-adjustable)-it is typically bent in the middle. hth, kathleen > > Hello all, my son Noah has been in his DBB bar a week today. Guest guest
What kind of bar are you using? I think having it bent to point the toes up 10 degrees is important. Seems some bars are bent, some are not, and others are bent but you can hardly even tell it (like the bar). s. what is dorsiflexion??? Hello all, my son Noah has been in his DBB bar a week today. I have been reading that some bars are bent at the ends. His is straight as could be. Is that good are bad?? His feet were fully corrected at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Guest guest
Amy, My son has the DBB ( gold bar) and we have always had a bend in the middle. When we switched to Dr. H and Dr. Lamm they gave us a script for a new bar and on the script it said the bar should be bent 5 degrees. We had also been told to bend our old bar to 8 degrees. Not sure if this helped. Re: what is dorsiflexion??? What kind of bar are you using? I think having it bent to point the toes up 10 degrees is important.
