Guest guest
Hi Everyone!! My son (3) is on the GFCF diet for about 3 months now which seems to be going good and he just started Pre-k, today was his second day and he seems to like it alot. I seem to have trouble giving him vitamins. I met with Dr. Neubrander in Edison, NJ just recently, he's going to be giving me info. on supplements but I was giving Danplex and he gives me trouble taking it no matter how i mix it (juice, milk ) he sometimes took it with water that supprised me. Has anyone else used danplex? Or is there something better. I also worry about him not getting enough calcium I give him dari-free but doesn't seem to even want that much lately. I was told that the calcium powder from kirkman labs is good? Any comments? Has anyone seen drastic changes with there children with giving them such vitamins. One last thing, Before my son was on the diet I never had problems with his stool he had very normal bowel movements (donnn't mean to be disgusting)and now they are loose, yellowish color. Is this normal and will it change??? Sorry so may questions I just worry if he's getting the right or wrong thing and enough or not enough Thanks so much for the info. - Mom to (on the Spectrum)and (1 1/2) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
Guest guest
, I am also paranoid about the calcium issue. I started using the Kirkman's Calcium Powder. It calls for 1/2 tsp daily for an adult, so I give my kids 1/4 tsp. I put it in their morning juice. It doesn't dissolve well, but I figure they get most of it. I also add a few tsp. to every batter of cookies, breads, etc... My child doesn't drink Dari-Free or calcium fortified juices. I am still concerned. I callled Kirkman's and asked how much I should add to baked goods. She checked on it and told me I would have to do all sorts of complicated math computations to figure it out. I laughed and said I would just do it my way and add a spoonful or two. She said that sounded like a good idea. Just wanted to tell you what I do. We are 2 mos into the diet. Let me know if you learn any other ways to get calcium into them. Janelle Jane 2 pdd-nos 1 nt
Guest guest
, BTW, about the stool issue. Jane always had pretty normal stools until we started the diet. It concerns be bc I worry the diet is doing some harm, possibly. We also were using DMG with folic acid from Kirkman's and stopped that. After several attempts to ease it into her supplement program, we decided it did more harm than good as she had diarrhea while on it. Plan to try regular DMG without raspberry flavoring(Kirkman's thought that might be an allergic rxn.) when payday rolls around. Also using SNT. Guest guest
Dear Janelle: Maybe you can make omelettes with spinach, they have calcium . My son loves them. At the website of gfcfdiet I think they have on the Printable Lisis, foods with calcium. Carmen.
