Re: Chelation questions

I'm afraid of chelation, but feel that's a direction we'll be heading. My

DAN, who is a holistic practicioner, has suggested DMSA. I'm wondering if

there are other gentler methods of chelation which may be effective (apple

pectin, garlic, vit. C, etc.).

Is there an e-mail list similar to this gfcfkids one which discusses

chelation? Or are there others in our group besides ' mom who would like

to discuss there chelation methods?

Hair analysis - my understanding is that this is not an accurate test of

heavy metals unless the contamination were within the past year or so. If

this is the case, are there other methods of testing for heavy metals before

undergoing chelation? I know that DMSA is used as both a test and an analysis

- don't really like the idea of going that route yet.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Debbie

Hair will give you a mineral profile. Mercury messes up mineral

transport.: Autism-Mercury has a file section where you

can go over hair analysis. Alot of times you don't see any mercury , but

you can see minerals scattered all which seems to indicate toxicity. kelly

Here is an excellent chelation FAQ you can read

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Autism-Mercury/files/Mercury-Autism%20FA

Q

This address is very long, the last three letters should be FAQ, so if

it does not end with FAQ when this message gets to you, just copy and

paste the address in your browser window, then type whatever letters

are left on the end.

Here are two chelation message boards you can lurk and read, maybe

post your questions here, if they are not answered on the FAQ above.

Good luck to you.
