Guest guest
Joy, I had surgery in Michigan with Dr. Hares July 19, 2001. I have been very happy with the results so far. I had originally planned to have RNY at BTC, but they stopped taking my insurance (Blue Cross PPO). I only found out about DS after I went through my insurance web site to find a doctor that did participate with my insurance. That is how I found Dr. Hares and the DS. In retrospect, it was the best thing that could have happened. I live close by so I attend all the support meetings. The upfront fee of $4500 is pretty high if you are not able to utilize the aftercare program. I know there is another DS surgeon in Michigan that does not charge an additional fee. For me it was cheaper to pay the fee and have my insurance cover the rest rather than paying for a non-participating surgeon. Go to the Blue Cross web page and see if any of the surgeons participate with your insurance. Check www.duodenalswitch.com for all the Michigan surgeons. If you call Dr. Hares office, they will send you an informati on packet for free. Thier number is . The initial consult is free too. Have you looked at Dr. Hess in Ohio? He is a top surgeon. You can get his info. from the web page too. If you want more information about Dr. Hares, let me know. Kathy M. Guest guest
Hi Kathy and congrats! I was wondering, what does the $4500 Program Fee provide? That is very steep. dee --- andem4@... wrote: > Joy, > I had surgery in Michigan with Dr. Hares July 19, > 2001. I have been very happy with the results so > far.
