Guest guest
We use a cream for 's eczema called Calming Creme by Eucerin. We get it at Walmart and it says on the tube that it is safe for children. We put this one after her bath and it works well for her. It also does a good job keeping the eczema at bay. It is also important to not bathe too often with eczema. We bathe only every other day and this helps her as well. Guest guest
Actually, our pediatrician told us to bathe the baby daily and soak for 5-10 minutes in clear water, no soap at all. He said that water is moisturizing but it is the soap that is drying. I was not able to use any type of soap or baby wash on my now three year old for the first year of his life, after a terrible eczema outbreak when he was six weeks old. I can see that will be the same way. Carol Continued FAB adjustment and bar > > length > > > > > > > > > Our night last night was better, with not waking as > much > > or > > > seeming as restless. Guest guest
Hello. Since we are on the skin topic... My son is 5 months old and has eczema issues as well. He only seems to get it on his face. We have to bathe him daily and wash his face several times during the day. If he gets any food or spit up or anything on his face, he has a rash there the next day. I have tried creams, different soaps, lack of soap, etc. I have found that his face skin is too sensitive for washing with baby wipes or soap. Occasionally he will have a spot that will not go away and it is red and raised and is tough to get rid of, so we have to use the 1/2 strength cortizone cream. Someone mentioned before that they avoid using the cream because of the cortizone... is cortizone bad? Our pediatrician recommended it. --- Jenni Cypher wrote: > We use a cream for 's eczema called Calming > Creme by Eucerin. We get it at Walmart and it says > on the tube that it is safe for children. Guest guest
Hydrocortisone cream is a steroid and thins the skin. Our pediatrician instructed me to use no more than 1% hydrocortisone on the baby's face. If you are using the half strength type, then it should be fine. Guest guest
What I was told was this... I don't even remember which baby had the eczema bad on his face, maybe number 3 (that is how good I am). Anyway, our doctor told us cortizone just makes the eczema LOOK better but doesn't actually do anything for it. And since it is a steriod/hormone, isn't the best thing to be putting on faces. That is just what we were told. I think it was baby number three, he grew out of his eczema. None of my others have had it on their faces, just legs and bellies.
