Guest guest
Hi Gang, Heres something I havent seen anything posted about in a while. I had my surgery back in April and am now down about 100 lbs. The problem I am having is with swelling in my right leg in particular. I also have some fluid retention that is " pooling " in the area of my large apron that hangs between my legs when I am sitting. The lower part of my abdomen gets real hard and sorta red and I can tell its nothing but fluid buildup as the day goes by. I sit at a desk all day and have tried to be sure to get up and walk around every 20 mins or so but that hasnt seemed to help. I have looked at my diet for the past few weeks and seems like I may be overdoing it on the sodium so I am trying to really watch that. I am already taking 40 mg lasix once a day and have wondered if I may need a higher dosage. I know the doc is concerned that I keep my potassium levels correct so I dont think he wants to up the lasix. Anyone have any ideas? I get so uncomfortable. I thought this water game would get better after wt. loss. Seems my apron hangs lower than it ever did. Bummer! I may cross post this as I'm looking for any answers I can get. Thanks for any help you can offer. a Gossman Body by Hess 4/11/01 Total loss so far.......95 lbs! Guest guest
for me, if i wear those elastic stockings, my legs don't swell up. also, the fat tissue in the apron is like a sponge and will hold water. so if you wear a firm support panty brief or girdle, that should keep the fluid from becoming such a problem in your belly. also, it would be a good idea to talk to your doc about the leg swelling, since it's only in one leg. could be a circulation problem that needs looking at. ok? mary y st.louis > Hi Gang, > Heres something I havent seen anything posted about in a while.
