Guest guest
Actually, I am thinking that the comparison of childbirth and DS recovery might be similar for other reasons. I had two c-sections and although the recovery was quicker, I still had a NASTY month. There are things that new mommies go through that make the first month seem like an absolute nightmare. To be honest with you, I didn't enjoy my kids until after the first month, lol. Breastfeeding means never getting a full night's rest; your pain meds are limited; your uterus is cramping and you are bleeding like never before - and don't even get me started on the hormonal purge! I also had a major infection after my last c-section and was in hell trying to recover and take care of a 2 1/2 neurotic little boy and a new baby. Heh heh, I'm actually looking forward to getting some real sleep for a month after this surgery - not that I want to be away from my little ones, but really, I'm looking forward to it Kathie <<Well, the reason new post ops might be able to accuse us of this is this. It is similar to when women go through the birth of their first child. During the labor and delivery, the pain, agony, discomfort, etc. are horrible. However, recovery is quick and the reward splendid and you quickly forget the horribleness of the experience. And in the case of childbirth the reward is much quicker than with WLS. With wls you wake up very injured and still morbidly obese. It takes a good long while to see the rewards.>>
