Hi

I want to thank everyone for their responses to my post, They all have

helped. The main reason I was and am worried is because of my MS, even if I

lose control of my bowels due to the MS...that can be maybe 2-3x a

day....what I am worried about is if I get chronic and urgent diarrhea then I

will be messing in my britches up to 10x a day. Messing in ones britches is

bad enough, but i think 2x a day is better than up to 10x a day. Hopefully

this will not happen.

My MS is very mild, I guess I am trying to look to much into the future as

this (loosing control of BM's) may never happen to me. Just wanted to

clarify what I meant.

In no way can anyone talk me out of the surgery (except maybe a DS surgeon)

even if I decide to go with just the sleeve part ( I would rather have the

" sleeve " than the RNY. I know that this is my decision and only my decision.

What is most important is that I need to get this weight off, or at least

some of it, carrying around this extra weight with MS is not a good thing.

Taking the weight off will ease up on some of my MS symptoms, it may not cure

them but they will get better.

I also realize that everyone is different, however, boy would I hate to be

the one that has chronic and uncontrollable diarrhea.

Once again thanks everyone for your input, it does help calm me down.

Interesting. I haven't read the DS list in many moons, so I had no

idea. Tia really needs to know that each person is different. I know

few post-ops that have serious diarrhea problems post-op. What do you

recent post-ops think? Should Tia be worried about this?
