True, but sleep apnea can help you get ins approval for the surgery itself. That's why I'm having the sleep study done because I don't have a ton of serious comorbs. alyssa
Guest guest
thanks for all the posts about my discipline question. I feel like most of you have been helped to be disciplined in your choices by this surgery, and it is not the " diet diet diet diet " thinking or focus. That is what I had hoped. Someone said if I wasn't ready to be disciplined with eating protien first and taking the vitamins, I shouldn't do this surgery. Well, I personally can be a very extremely disciplined person and have been at various times of my life. I was on Atkins for 4 years - not one piece of bread or starch, hardly any sugar for 4 years. I lost 120 lbs the first year and kept it off for the following 3. Problem was, as soon as I had that one piece of bread, it was all over and the weight just started coming back on. So, I think I can manage the protein first ruling. What will be different for me is knowing that what I lose, with be lost and won't be coming back. All of us can " lose weight " right? But how many of us can KEEP IT OFF? I think that is the reason I am so drawn to this surgery - the idea that I could actually lose weight and keep it off would be a dream come true!
