Guest guest
The bar should be 2 " longer than his shoulders. He probably needs a longer bar. I've read here that children can be uncomfortable if the bar is too short. Maybe you can call your doctor and get a longer bar before your next appointment. and 11/10/03 bilateral cf dbb 14/7 > > Hello, > > My son has been wearing the DBB just about three months now > for 23/7. Guest guest
We just had this issue. Our bar was too short, making my son very unhappy. We see Dr. H in MD. He had told us that when the shoes are on the bar, the heels of the shoes should be about shoulder length apart. The longer bar has made a huge difference for us. Guest guest
I have to double check but I definitely do not think 's heels are shoulder length apart like they should be. My husband keeps saying that if it was the bar being too short then he would be uncomfortable all the time. He seems happy most of the day except for his naps and bedtime. I told my husband that it is so strange that he has not flipped over onto his belly for sleep or play since Thursday when it was something that he always did. > > We just had this issue. Guest guest
My son's shoulders are 10 inches across and we have a 12 inch bar. When I called to get a bigger size shoe I told them his shoulders were now 10 inches and they sent a longer bar, one that was 12 inches. and 11/10/03 bilateral cf dbb 14/7 > > > > Hello, > > > > My son has been wearing the DBB just about three months now > > for 23/7. Guest guest
Hi Stacey, I agree with everyone here, your little probably needs a longer bar...they just do so much growing in that first year =). Also, this is around the time when our daughter first started teething. This may also be contributing to his fussiness at night. & Grace > > Hello, > > My son has been wearing the DBB just about three months now > for 23/7. Guest guest
I left a message for the doctor's office about the issues we are having. Do I need to wait for the doctor to decide if needs a new bar or should I just go back to the shoe store where we got the shoes/bar and talk the person who fit for the brace originally? He fits many kids with the bars for my doctor. Should we also be looking into the adjustable bar? Right now we just have the straight gold bar. What are the disadvantages to the adjustable bar? > > > > Hello, > > > > My son has been wearing the DBB just about three months now > > for 23/7. Guest guest
I just went through a similar thing with . She was in the gold 6 inch bar and after being happy in the bar for so long, she began crying a lot and kicking the shoes off every night. I measured the width between her shoulders - it was 8 inches. I called the doctor and spoke with the nurse. She got the prescription for the new bar (I requested the red adjustable one) and I picked up the bar the same day. She's slept through the night happily in her new bar for three nights in a row! I don't know of any disadvantages to the adjustable bar. I think next time this happens though, it will be so much easier to simply adjust the bar. , Judith, (6 mos, fab 12 hrs) > > > > > > Hello, > > > > > > My son has been wearing the DBB just about three months > now > > > for 23/7.
