Guest guest
I tried the recipe twice and both times the batter was too watery to even think about rolling it out. I used a cusinart. Should I mix by hand. Also it calls for gfcf milk power. Do I just put the powder in or make the milk powder into milk and then put it in. Actually I tried the recipe both ways and it turned out the same. Obviously I don't do alot of cooking or baking from scratch but my son loved tootsie rolls before the diet. Anyone else running into this same problem. Thanks Leslee Pieters
Guest guest
That's so funny you wrote that. I had the same problem in my first attempt yesterday at tootsie balls(they were easier for Jane to " help " me with). They were so soft that they spread. I froze them, but that didn't help. They taste great, but look funny. I thought it was bc I didn't soften the margarine. And then when I saw it was only resembling crumbs and no way could I " knead like bread " I put it in the microwave to soften the butter. I feel like I need the Cliff's Notes for gfcf recipes sometimes. Janelle
