Guest guest
, I don't know for a fact. My dh and I always say that, if it comes up, bc we know that from the first days we held her she was a back archer, cried if we looked at her too long, and when she was a few mos old she was most content laying in her crib for an hour or more during the day. I could go on and on. Oh, also, when I was pg with her, she startled(incredibly) when she heard our dog bark or other loud noises. If she hadn't been our firstborn, we'd have known something was up within mos. Our neurologist and dev. spec. thought also from all of this info that she was this way since before birth. Who knows. I think one of the best pieces of advice I read was in Facing Autism, I believe. It said to focus your energy on things other than trying to find the reason... Someday we will all have the answer, but it really doesn't matter to me at this point. I also had a very medicated, IV'd, hospitalized, difficult preg and long, forceps, etc.. delivery. I guess I could go crazy trying to figure out what caused the ASD. BTW, for the most part I always hear about ASD children developing " normally " and then regressing. Has anyone felt their child was ASD since birth? Janelle
