Guest guest
Hi my name is I am new to the group. Two years ago I had my jaw surgery and my jaws were wired shut for three weeks, and I was feeding myself through a tube and syringe. I was unaware of the other items out there for me to use so I wouldn't have to water down my food when it was pureed. I am a Girl Scout and I am doing my Gold Award project on my experiences through that ordeal, in order to help others going through a similar experience. This project is on the same level as the Boy Scout Eagle. For part of my project, I am putting together a recipe booklet with a goal of at least 100 recipes, more if I can get them! The recipes need to be formulated for those who need to be put on liquid diets. I would like to ask those of you in the group if you would freely send me recipes that could be pureed; it can be as many as you want to send me. Although I do have many recipes, it is not as many as I would have liked so I am asking for your help at reaching my goal. I would only ask in order for those of you who send me recipes is that you attach to your recipes your first name, last name or last initial and the state in which you are from so you can get proper credit for your help. I will make a copy of the recipe booklet available by uploading a copy to the file section of the group. This copy is free to anyone that needs it. I am also distributing copies to various doctors and hospitals in my area. I would like to have all of the recipes by the end of February in order to get them formatted for the booklets. I am also collecting suggestions and tips for for dealing with jaw surgery to be included in the booklet as well. If you have anything to share please send to me off list. Thank You
