Guest guest
Hi - I will be 2 weeks out tomorrow. I am not able to eat much either. I can have either a small protein drink, or maybe 1/2 egg, or 1/2 cup oatmeal or a cracker with PB or tuna. I am also only drinking about 30 oz of water as well. I have been reassured that this is ok and everything will pick up soon enough food and water wise. I do, however, have a raving case of heartburn/acid reflux! This is in my throat and is like a burning feeling. I am just change my rxd from Pepsid to Zantac...still no relief. Check with your doctor/nurse and see what they say about your nausia. Good Luck! gail post-op 9/7/01 Dr. Rabkin __________________________________________________ Terrorist Attacks on U.S. - How can you help? Guest guest
You might ask to change to a different class of meds such as a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole/Prilosec or lansoprazole/Prevacid. These are often more effective than the H2 blockers such as ranitidine/Zantac, famatodine/Pepsid, or nizatidine/Axid. If an H2 blocker works you don't need a proton pump inhibitor. in Seattle > In a message dated 9/20/01 5:18:26 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > gailfran2@y... writes: > > > > I am just > > change my rxd from Pepsid to Zantac...still no relief. > > > > I have found that Axid offers me the most relief. Guest guest
Thank you for the suggestion. I am at my wits end and I can't eat without having extreme acid reflux and I can no longer take Tums as my stomach is rejecting them. gail > > I am just > > change my rxd from Pepsid to Zantac...still no > relief. > > > > I have found that Axid offers me the most relief. > For me, it works even > better than Prevacid.
