Guest guest
Hi Just thought i would add a little from my experience by means of help, hopefully. I was swollen for about 3months nearly after my upper/lower/rpe op. I was also STARVING from the word go. I was on a liquid diet for about 6-8weeks and only progressed to a mushy diet for the following 3 months. I too had my bad days where i really felt like i just wanted it over with. i was fed up and the main thing for me was the food. Liquids/mush can only last so long before it loses its appeal (not that it had much to start with). Recovery can take a while though and the tough thing is that you dont want to push yourself too far, yet you want to be back to Normal or the new normal. in the long run its worth sticking it out. And once you start to feel better you will start to see the results and how time picks up again. Im 3 years post op this august and wouldnt change a thing. I would have surgery again if i had to. To be quite honest it seems such a long time ago and such a blur that i dont even feel like i had it done. Time is a healer.... you've just got to hang it there!!! Hope you feel better soon. All the post oppers are with you and know what your going through and this really is the best place to vent where people will understand. Feel free to VENT away until your hearts content.
