Guest guest
The fruits are perfect and so naturally sweet. Vegetables horrible. Surprisingly the week after surgery I did enjoy the meats...you just have to season them yourself. Without seasoning they too taste like cardboard. -- babyfood? Guest guest
if you have a Healthfood store anywhere near you you will be able to find organic sugar free (unkess natural sugars are involved) babyfood. Earths Best I believe is one brand of babyfood that healthfood stores sell. Colleen Lap-RNY 11/03/03 315/196/145-ish > Just wondering if anyone uses baby food post op? Guest guest
Hi , I have used baby food successfully for GI surgery previously and have laid in a supply for my gastric bypass surgery later this month. I'm not planning on using it until the liquid phase is over but I am prepared. What I have learned is this. Don't use any babyfood fruit because it is full of sugar. You don't need fruit anyway unless you are constipated then I suggest Apricot puree. Don't use the baby foods with noodles, etc. too many carbs. What you will find really good for a pureed protein source is the Veal and Veal Gravy. It has more flavor than other meat and broth combinations but I do use the Chicken and Broth and add a little salt. If you stick to basic protein baby foods without any additional carbs (rice, pasta, hi carb veggies) you will be well advised.
