Guest guest
Hi guys! Ok, after wls (a little over 2 years ago), milk was not a big deal for me- I could drink it, no problem, although I usually only had it in protein shakes. Then, at about a year or so, I went to only water in my shakes, deciding that the added calories were not beneficial to me. Ok, fast forward to about a couple months ago - I decide that I really want a piece of cornbread in milk. So, I borrow a cup of milk from my neighbor and enjoyed it completely. That is until about 30 min's after, then was sick as a dog w/ cramps, the runs, sweats, chills, etc. That lasted about 3 hours, then went away. So, I realized ok, maybe I should not be drinking milk. Then, a few weeks ago I had the biggest craving for cereal. So, I bought the Kashi brand and decided that since I have 1/2 & 1/2 in my coffee, it would work for cereal. BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD!!! Sick all day! Ok, so then I think maybe I need something lactose free. So, I buy Soy Milk. BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD!!! Again, sick all day long. Ok, last night, walking through Wal-Mart, I decide that I'm really craving cereal again so I buy the Carnation coffee creamer - no carbs, no lactose, no sugar. Eat it this morning w/ cereal - BAD BAD BAD BAD!!! Does anyone know why??? Then this morning as I was holed up in the bathroom - literally, I remembered that when I was a little baby I was allergic to my mother's milk, whole milk, etc. My mom used to mix up dry coffee creamer w/water to feed me - everything else came up. However, as I grew up milk was not an issue for me. Is this one of those 2 year things that just appear???? Thanks, April
Guest guest
April, This is just a thought and I'm not a medical person. Maybe what happened when you were younger was that you created a tolerance to the milk. When you stopped drinking it, your body forgot about the tolerance and now has reverted back to it's original allergic reaction to it.
