Recommending surgeons on this forum

I think posting positive recommendations about doctors/surgeons is a

great idea. Word of mouth is the best advertising.

However, I would discourage the badmouthing of surgeons or doctors in

this forum. Oftentimes what you may percieve as a mistake by the

surgeon is merely a lack of understanding of the surgeons job. If you

think the surgeon has handled your case improperly talk to him/her

about it rather than passing judgement and publishing it for the

world to see. How would you feel if a lay person started second

guessing your ability to do your job without having all of the facts?

It is not just about liability but rather about courtesy and

professionalism.
