Guest guest
I'll take the spices out of everything except for the chicken and beef that I already have in the fridge. I took the yogurt out to see if that was my problem but I don't think so anymore, so i'll add that back in.I've been eating the livers from the chickens that I buy. Is beef liver just as good? A little bit different in taste, but yeah. Mara
Guest guest
Suggestions for moving forward from here? I don't have the option of increasing my meds right now because of health insurance.Hey ,What about trying a vitamin E enema? I'm not sure how expensive the vitamin E capsules would be, or the ear bulb thingy, but if you could get some then that might help with the bleeding. It got me out of one flare a while ago. Didn't get me out of another more serious one, but if you don't have any other options, it might help in addition to everything else you're doing.Another thing, are you making broth by simmering the bones and other 'junk' for a long time with some ACV? I know it's supposed to have really healing properties, which I'm sure you could do with =) Also, I read over on the GAPS group that adding a raw egg yolk to your mug of broth gives super easily-absorbed nutrition. Guest guest
I drink the broth from the chickens I cook, but there's no ACV in it and I don't cook it for 36 hours. I'd have to look for a source of bones to use for that and then i'll try it. I was doing the vit E thing and adding it to the medicine for about 2 weeks. Not sure if that's counter productive or not, so I i'm taking the E out for a few days to see. Then i'll bring it back again if there's no change . TMI warning - One difference with the Vit E is that I have a super lubed up and soft rear end now.... don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.-UC - 1+ yearsSCD - 7 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 5 pills a dayTo: BTVC-SCD From: luckycharms@...Date: Sun, 14 Mar 2010 18:33:59 -0400Subject: Re: After almost a year I notice how much i've been doing wrong. Guest guest
- SCD alone is not going to help you at this stage, I think. SCD is long-term, you need something for short-term to get you in balance. Azathioprine helped me a lot getting off prednisone, and giving me remission. It is cheap -- takes a month to kick-in. Some might not respond, but if you respond -- that'll help you a lot. Please check with your doctor. Also, 12 pills asacol/day is full dose. You should get on that full dose along with azathioprine or something else to get your symptoms under control. I hope you are able to find something soon. Take care -Andy.
