Guest guest
Hey Debbie, Have you ever tried IsoPure? I remember Barb Herrera swearing by this stuff, and I have tried it. It's more of a " juice " than a shake... It does taste a little funky, but it could be different enough from shakes to make it palatable for you... Check it out! http://www.naturesbest.com/ http://www.eradain.com/apoplexy -----Original Message----- From: debomeara I've never done the protein supps...tried to...but they make me gag. I'm not kidding, I've tried several different brands but I literally cannot stand them...shakes or bars. I know this is why my hair is falling out, even though all my labs look good (during preg and as of 3 weeks ago). I'm scheduled for a hernia repair/TT at the end of August and I know I need to get myself in better shape or I'll be bald by the end of September. If anybody can suggest a protein supp that might be a little more palatable I would be SO grateful. Thanks for your help. Guest guest
Well, it may or may not be lack of protein............. Some people just always lose hair after a surgery of any kind. I have seen people say on this list that the only surgery they lost hair with was WLS. But I have had several other types of surgery, and I lost some hair with all of them. Also lost hair with each of my kids--no surgery involved and in 3 out of 4 cases, not even any anesthesia (which some feel also causes hair loss). As for protein shakes, have you tried Labrada's Pro-V 60? It is the ONLY mix I can tolerate the taste of. I add flaxseed meal (1 TBS) for flavor and body (and it's really good for you too) and sometimes some spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc) or instant coffee or a half tsp jello powder for variety. I look forward to my shakes, actually. YMMV, but if u haven't tried these, give it a shot. You can get one-serving samples for $2 a throw at www.vitalady.com.
