Guest guest
The only thing I could think about last night during all of this was how many people on this site were up there. Glad to hear from atleast one survivor. Guest guest
Barbara Jean , there are some things about the " problems " of the surgery to be grateful for. I could eat a half gallon of regular ice cream tonight. There would be three problems. TOMORROW morning my blood sugar count would be high (but I wouldn't feel any different) My scale would be up no doubt and I would be back to craving carbs. I was given ice cream in the hospital and it was the first solid food that I was able to get down. It's never made me sick ...except when I ate too much too fast one time and it doesn't make me dump. Now protein... meat .... dry chicken, steak... I have to be careful with *sigh* It just aint fair! hehehehehhe B in NJ Re: I missed you guys! > Well okay. Guest guest
Believe me, I'm grateful. Before surgery I ate ice cream every single night. Actually I don't really know whether I can eat ice cream now, but there is no way I ever wanna find out. Barbara Jean Re: I missed you guys! > > > > Well okay. Guest guest
We got our power restored at around 3 a.m. so almost 12 hours. I was thinking, I wonder if dh would hook up the computer to the generator so I can check my grad/protein emails. We were too busy dealing with it though (neighbors, friends, etc) I told dh and the kids, " don't worry, at least we can make lots of protein shakes " . Lori NY (who's hoping everyone gets restored soon) Re: I missed you guys! > The only thing I could think about last night during all of this was how > many people on this site were up there. Guest guest
Missed all of you too. Power went out at 4 pm yesterday and we got ours back on at 11:00 this morning. Whoopee. Had a ball last night though. Saw a bunch of neighbors outside talking and we decided to have an impromtu block party in my back yard. Lit the tiki torches around the pool, served some cocktails and played music on somebody's boombox. (I didn't partake in the drinking and actually had to shake my shake by hand, how primitive). The last people left around 3:00 this morning. We're all exhausted today, but when the chips are down, we try to fly into party mode.
