Guest guest
I'm not Misty, but thought I'd jump in here and share my experiences. I generally pick up Sunsweet prunes, and I think they also make a legal prune nectar, or did the last time I looked, which was several years ago. There are other brands of prunes available as well. Just check the package labels and make sure no illegals or unwanted preservatives were used. Some dried fruits are coated with corn starch to keep from sticking, or use a sulfite preservative that causes issues for some. The prunes I buy are often sticking in clumps, but are easy to separate. By the way, I couldn't touch a prune or any other dried fruit until my 4th year on SCD. The prune nectar constipation protocol was off-limits to me. But by then I'd gotten my candida levels under control, and my sugar levels didn't fluctuate as dramatically when I used dried fruit in my muffins. I don't snack on dried fruits because my digestion can't handle the fiber and density, but muffins work OK. Kim M.
