Guest guest
I saw them at every increasing intervals for years. But we did monthly til goal wt, then quarterly, 6 months, etc. We're now at a sloppy year. We still get frequent labs, though, and really, barring any physical problems, I'm with you. Be 9 yrs shortly, and labs go on forever. Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
Robina, My doctor sees us every 6 months for the first 5 years. He asks for a 5 year commitment from us which in addition to coming to support (which not everyone does) includes seeing him for an office visit every 6 months. Yearly we have an UGI and every 6 months bloodwork. He has a certain profile he has run. Not sure what happens after 5 years...just coming up on that mark in the fall. Hope he doesn't boot me out on my rear ) In return for our commitment he promises to be there for us and that he is. Post Surgical Follow Up I am soon approaching my two year mark (end of July). Has anyone gone to see the doctors after the first year for the so called follow up? I know that we need to have blood work done annually, but besides helping the surgeons record their statistics on successes versus failures, why do we need to go? Robina LAP 7/27/01 -110 lbs. Guest guest
I go to support group meetings but that is about it. My PCP does all of my blood work and there is no sense doing it twice. If he needs the info, it gets mailed to him. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas SRVG 7/16/01 Dr. Ritter/Dr. Bryce 479/335/??? Guest guest
Since I've lost weight so slowly (70 lbs in 15 months), my surgeon makes me feel a little.... inadequate.... when I see him. I talked with my PCP and she agreed to do the follow-up from here. There is no sense in me leaving his office in tears every time I see him. Besides, now I don't even see him, I just see and associate. He also shakes his head and wonders why I'm losing so slowly. Hey, at least I not gaining.
