Guest guest
Hi, and welcome. I can only answer one of your questions - your problem is skeletal and therefore it's a health issue, although it will require orthodontal intervention (braces) to align your teeth to where they will be post-surgery. You may be able to claim some of the orthodontal costs through your dental insurance, though. I was, only up to the lifetime max of C$ 2,500, which was about a quarter of what it actually cost me. I have no experience with insurance, since my surgery was covered 100% here in Ontario, Canada, by our provincial health insurance plan. I've heard people in California mention Kaiser, though. Others have had good luck with Blue Cross, I think, but I'm really just name- dropping here. Hopefully some other members here can help with surgeons in L.A. Your problem is sort of like the chicken and the egg, though - do you look for a surgeon first and get his/her referral to an orthodontist, or do you look for an orthodontist first and get his/her referral to a surgeon? Usually it's the latter, so you might look for a good orthodontist, one who has experience preparing patients for orthognathic surgery, and ask about a referral to a surgeon who has done many, many of these surgeries and continues to do so. I hope that helps, > > Hi I have an underbite problem since i was very young. Guest guest
Hello, I don't know about surgeons in the LA area but my OS is located in Orange County and he's wonderful. I know that this may be out of the way, but he is known as one of the best oral surgeons around. His name is Wyatt and he's located in Newport Beach. Good luck, > > > > Hi I have an underbite problem since i was very young.
