Guest guest
I have a Cuisinart. I'll have to check and see what the model number is. I absolutely love it! One of my best investments since starting SCD. Ice cream is my favorite desert :-) Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > oh i am getting really fired up to start making legal frozen yogurt/ice cream! > can someone recommend the mest machine to get a result with great consistency and ease? > > thank you! > dana (scd 3.5 years..) >
Guest guest
I have a Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Sorbet, and Ice Cream Maker. Love it! My favorite recipe is the Vanilla Ice Cream at http://nomorecrohns.com/desserts.aspx . I make the yogurt with 1/2 & 1/2, and then drip it. This makes the ice cream very smooth and creamy, and eliminates most of the tang. The only thing I do different then the recipe is that I blend the butter to the honey/egg mixture while it is still hot. Also, I use a double boiler to make the honey/egg mixture, because it's really easy to burn in a regular pot. It takes a little while to thicken, I probably whisk it (I have a hand mixer with whisk attachment) for a good 15 minutes. This stuff is so good, that it's really hard to miss illegal ice cream. It's very high calorie though (at least when you use dripped 1/2 & 1/2), about 350 calories for 1/2 cup. Oh, one more piece of advice. I bought some silicon muffin cups. I freeze the ice cream in these. At about 1/3 cup, they make a nice portion, peel out really easy, plus they look kind of fancy with the ripply edges :-) Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > > > oh i am getting really fired up to start making legal frozen yogurt/ice cream! > > can someone recommend the mest machine to get a result with great consistency and ease? > > > > thank you! > > dana (scd 3.5 years..) > > >
