Guest guest Posted April 6, 2004 Report Share Posted April 6, 2004 due to the decreased gastric acid production in wls'ers, we only absorb calcium citrate, not calc carbonate. check out the graduate group & most especially the ossg osteoporsis group for tons of medical literature on this. do not take my word on this, i'm not a medical profesional. i care(d) enough to post this, not to mention i have osteopenia, diagnosed @ 17 months post-op, w/ NO other risk factor other than malabsorption. lori h. 23 grateful months post-op Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
