Guest guest
Hi all, I've heard people posting lately who had surgery within days of me-- March 8th, and I just wanted to check in to see how you are doing. I had upper (with palate expansion), lower, genio and nasal surgery and am banded shut with a splint. How are you all doing with speech? What are you eating these days? Any particular problems/successes? I'm just wondering if we are on the same track. I really thought my speech would be better by now, but i am barely understandable to my family. I'm can't handle much texture in my food, so I'm eating mostlly clear liquids and very liquified soups and smoothies. I'm finally sleeping through the night, which is a big deal for me since I had severe insomnia for the first week or so. Other than that, my only major complaint is the fuzz growing on my teeth inside my mouth and the constant tingling in my face, especially my chin. Ice helps a bit, but it's hard to keep it going all day. Please let me know how you all are doing! Happy 2 week anniversary.
