Guest guest
hiya! my understanding is that you don't get the constipation-easing effects from the oil because you need the fiber from the seeds themselves. i use ground flaxseed and add it to yogurt or cottage cheese, even toss it in with chili. hope that helps, kate > I haven't seen any information on the flax oil softgels. We malabsorb fats and oils, and the oil has no lignans in it, anyway, which is an important component of the whole flaxseeds. Best is to use the ground flaxseed meal. Either buy it that way or put the whole seeds thru a coffee grinder. Carol A
Guest guest
Before I discovered and became addicted to the seeds I used the oil caps. A friend of mine still uses the oil caps- she has terrible problems with constipation unless she is faithful with the flax oil caps. She takes two to three a day, I used to take 4 a day but not for constipation, never had a problem with that. She feels like the seeds are too much trouble and the caps are more convenient so she continues on the with the caps. I discontinued once I found the seeds. I just grind up in my coffee grinder about every 10 days or so, pour into a tupperware-type container and throw in the 'fridge, then I add a couple of tablespoons to each shake. Nummmmmmmmy!
