Guest guest
Your concerns are worth the concern. The worst part of this experience has been the hunger. I;m not sure how your doctor works, but my doctor only made me wear my splint for 2 weeks. In those 2 weeks I was unable to use either the Zippie's or a straw. I used the syringes form the hospital. Your doctor might have the both the Zippie bags and Syringes. My Doctor gave me both. I had both my top and bottom jaw done. I just want to warn you of this. I'm on week 4, I just went back to work. I'm still weak which I think is form lack of food. I drink 6 Ensures a day. Your insurance cover all meds most likely, but the Ensures are spendy. I have probaly spent $300 on Ensure. You should goto Costco, I live in NYC so my costs arethe most in the USA:) I love the chocolate Plus, They are my saving grace. I love the chocolate. Good luck. --- TwoOnSunday <no_reply > wrote: > > Finally after more than a two year wait, I am two > weeks away from > having surgery. Guest guest
Some folks also find that sippie cups, or even ordinary cups, are easier, too.. Guest guest
My suregon and the hospital each gave me a large syringe with a rubber cathader that fit on the end and I could place that in the back of my mouth. I had to water things down a lot especially at first, but I found the sippe bags impossiable to use...but some people like them. I think anyway you eat its going to be messy, taking a washcloth or paper towel with you is well worth---try adding milk to things to make it easier to get through the syringe. > > > > Finally after more than a two year wait, I am two weeks away from > > having surgery.
