Guest guest
, I think you are smart to begin to stock up on some necessary items you might need. Ive been doing this for years but because its a way of life for us living in such a rural area especially in winter time when its hard to get to the stores, etc. One word of advise...buy only the canned foods you like and will eat! Otherwise it will just get thrown out and rotate, rotate, rotate! If you can, keep a supply of vitamins etc to last you 3-6 months and begin to replace them as you use them. That way you wont run out. Bottled water is excellent but you need to rotate those too....I think they last no more than 6 months. Keep some bleach on hand too just in case. Another good idea is to have a large back pack and stock that with items you might need when away from home, We keep one in the trunk of the car and another in the hall closet so we can grab and run if necessary. Put things in there like toliet paper, flashlight, food, thread, tooth brush, toothpaste etc....(Im presently working on storing toliet paper now LOL cant run out of that! ) Watch for sales on things you can really use and then purchase them. If you need any help dont hesitate to ask! Judie
