Kori,

I have a tip that you might want to add to the tips document. Get

new, longer, thicker shoe laces! This has been talked about before

but I never really thought of it as a " help " , more as a " cute thing

that the kids would like " . I went looking for something cute, i.e.

spiderman or such but couldn't find anything at the store I was at

(walmart) except Dora (not cool for Sammy!). Anyway so I found these

little navy blue and white laces that are " oval " shaped, it's supposed

to help keep them tied. So I bought the 45 " ones. Let me tell you,

this has made tying and untying Sammy's shoes SO much easier, it is

not even funny. They are thicker and kind of a weird nylon/synthetic

material (but not slick). The extra length is so nice, let's me get

the laces nice and loose without having to worry about them coming out

of the first hole, oh and because they are a little thicker they don't

slip around in the holes. I never could tie a knot in the end of the

laces because they were too short. Now I have plenty of shoestring to

hold onto while tying and can tie a double knot with no problem.

Also, I have been meaning to ask you if you have a word doc version of

the most recent version of the tips? or if you could get Naomi to

send it to you in that form? I know she is super busy right now so if

it is okay with both of you I could certainly work on it a bit. I

know you have been wanting to add stuff to it so I'd be glad to help.

I know exactly what you are talking about with those that come apart

and these are different again. They are all one piece with a stitch

of some other texture down each side, no core in the middle.

I wonder what the deal is with our laces, our shoes are definitely the

newer style. I wonder if it is just the size, like the size 2 1/2 is

the last one before they go up to the next size longer laces? I don't

know what the deal is, but the laces we had were definitely too short.

I emailed Naomi last week and she said she is just super busy. I did

send her the revised link for U of I to put in the document. I would

really like to be able to help get this thing finalized, if she can

give you the .doc version that would be great.
