Guest guest
Nothing scary, Kev., unless you're just scared of hospitals and white coats, which some folks are. You will need blood tests. You will need lung x-rays. You will probably need an EKG. You may need x-rays of your mouth. All of which can take up most of the day in our local hospitals. (The name of the game is all too often, hurry up and wait.) My surgeon did fit my splint the night before surgery. If he's there, and has already done your moulds, he may want to do that, too. Or if they haven't taken recent impressions, you're probably in for those. You'll probably get the prescriptions, so you can get them filled before the surgery. And hey -- no matter how much blood they want, you will only have to have one stick, if the sticker is good at the job! They may also counsel you about post op nutrition, wound care, etc. And give you a chance to ask any questions you may have. Or do other things. but those would be my guesses. Guest guest
From your name I'm assuming your pre-op appointment is in Halifax?? Well that's where mine (and the following surgery) was. I went to the old General there at the QEII site. The reason it's all day is because technically I had 2 appointments. One at 8am with the oral surgeon in the basement of the Centennial Building for some xrays and they took molds of my teeth and then the other was at 1pm up on the 10th floor of the Building (pre-admissions) for blood work and I talked to a nurse there as well. They took my blood pressure and weighed me and asked me about my family history. My appointment in the morning was about an hour long and the one in the afternoon was about an hour or two. So you see, it's an all day appointment that lasts a couple of hours. Longer if they're running behind I suppose. Hope that helps. > > > > Hey everyone, I have my preop appointment tomorrow for surgery ont > he 20th.
