Guest guest
5-Hydroxy-Tryptophan, an immediate bio-precursor of serotonin. I used it for several months, and it did not seem to do much for me, so I did not reorder. I do not suffer from clinical depression, and I took it mainly to decrease anxiety-induced late evening snacking. Actually, I don't have the need to snack very much after dinner, though I still take a small bowl of ice cream every now and then. --Steve At 1:32 PM -0400 7/11/03, raggedy wrote: >Someone on another list mentioned this supplement as helping with >depression without causing weight gain. Guest guest
I get a lot of printed and email info on alternative therapies and herbal treatments, etc. The ones that want to sell me something hype 5-HTP. The ones I trust, as giving sound and reasoned, objective advice, all advise against it. I do not, off the top of my head, remember the reasons why (if it's not something I'M taking, I just file the info in my brain as ok or not ok; too much overload up there already, LOL), but do remember deciding it is NOT something I would attempt. You could try asking on the Dr. Weil website for more info.......... Guest guest
Well, among other reasons, some of the earlier products contained toxic impurities. --Steve At 1:03 AM -0400 7/12/03, tuesdynite@... wrote: >I get a lot of printed and email info on alternative therapies and herbal >treatments, etc. The ones that want to sell me something hype 5-HTP. >The ones I >trust, as giving sound and reasoned, objective advice, all advise >against it.
