Guest guest
Jane, That is great that eating is going so well for you!!! I'm envious.... I'm totally not there yet. It would help if I ate more, but I have no time to eat these days.... thus no time to practice eating and chewing. My opening is a bit better but no room to shove in a hamburger! When will you be having pizza?!?! I saw my ortho and didn't even bother to ask when he thought I might be ready to have the braces removed. My mouth and teeth and bite still suck... there is a lot of work left to be done. I can tell I'm improved just from after the adjustments they made yesterday, but I hate my teeth and am questioning how good they will even look at the end of all of this.... I'm finding it is really hard to be patient and let go and let the ortho do his job. But, when I went in, I didn't hear one word as to how I looked/my mouth looked/my teeth looked, NOTHING.... esp. nothing positive. Just that my bite would be corrected.... slowly but surely. Great, what does that mean? I just hope these F-er's are off by the end of the year at least! Well, your surgery was two weeks before mine, so hopefully in two weeks I have made the progress that you are now enjoying!!! I am getting odd tinglings, itches, and shooting little pains too... they often feel like someone is sticking a pin in me. I guess that is promising. I can lick my lips now and touch my lips together again to spread lip gloss. Before I was mostly using my fingers.... Thanks for the food suggestions. I don't eat fast food tho' and we don't have chick filet up here.... I made an exception for wendy's frosties for a while, but have rebanned it. And all my brownies are gone... maybe THAT is why I feel so down right now! Keep me posted as always!!! I enjoy hearing about your progress and milestones!! Guest guest
Katja, I know what you mean about the teeth. My bite is fine but my upper left side is not as straight as my upper right side. I still have my top middle right tooth that seems to jut out more than the tooth next to it. Granted my bite looks good feels good but my teeth don't look perfectly straight. I pictured them movie star straight you know after all this! I know they all have veneers though! Anyhow I am moving in 4 weeks and my next appt is on May 20. Even if they take off the braces then what do they have to do to make the retainer?? How long will that take?? Will my teeth even be ready? Part of me wants to stop nit picking the results and be damned greatful my teeth are better than before and say what the hell yank them before my husband's graduation May 27th so I can smile for the pictures then the other part of me says all this for an unfinished result?? But I just dread going to TN and having to find another OT and then having the braces on for God knows how long. I am thinking of calling my OT and requesting a consultation to discuss realistically what I should expect as far as final results and when they will come off and what appointments that entails. It seems making a final decision 10 days before we move is just cutting it too close and is too stressful. I know they can't predict the future but jeeze give us more info!!
