Guest guest
FWIW, I have BCBS (of TX - and they are supposedly the toughest) and I read them the two CPT codes for DS and they said that they would cover it if there was an additional medical diagnosis (aka co-morbidity.) Also, n of Dr. Anthone's office said that she's had BCBS approve DS before - that it's no rare thing. Kathie > Okay, Nan. > > Let me get this straight. You have been approved by BC of Calif. Guest guest
Kathie, The problem is mainly with Blue Cross of California. In California Blue Cross and Blue Shield are separte entities (while they are merged elsewhare). The policy took effect on June 1st, so many were approved in the past. However, those trying to get approval now are having grave difficulties. Each state makes a different set of policies, so a decision by BC of CA does not necessarily affect any other state.
