Guest guest
I used this recipe for ice cream that I got off the web. It came out well. 1 pkg. soft silken tofu 1/4 c. cocoa 1 c. sugar (was a bit too sweet for me, so I'll decrease it next time). Enough milk sub to blend (recipe called for 1/2 to 1 c.--I used around 1/4 c., I think) Blend in blender until smooth. Freeze, stirring every two hours for 4 hours. (This recipe said it would be ready to eat then, but I found I needed to let it sit in the freezer overnight to get it to harden to the right consistency. Worked well, and it tasted just like regular ice cream). I estimated that this cost me about $1.80 or so to make, about half of a pint of premade ice cream in the store. No ice cream freezer needed, too, and it was easy and quick to make. You can't taste that there is tofu in it.
