Guest guest
I have United Health Care PPO also, was denied a lbl, abdominoplasty, etc. The denial letter stated that this was purely cosmetic rather than reconstructive surgeries.. I didnt have any problem getting approval for my original RNY or my two revision surgeries post RNY though. Peachy hugs,
Guest guest
: I went for my consultation with pictures, etc. and by the time I left his office and got home, I had two messages on my answering machine, one from the insurance company telling me it was approved and one from the doctor's office telling me the same thing. Pretty amazing. I had a few little skin tags removed from my neck and abdomen a few years ago and it was not covered because they considered it cosmetic and had to pay 200.00 to the dermatologist. I guess it was how the plastic surgeon worded it and they considered it reconstruction. My stomach was hanging down to the middle of my thighs at the time, so I guess they considered that to be a problem. Maybe if they resubmit with different verbage in their letter, you will be able to get it covered. I thank God every day, because we never would have been able to afford any of this. Good luck.
