Guest guest
If by some chance you are still working you can check with you state vocational rehabilitation. They sometimes do hearing aids//connie From: Helen <hmwalker9 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com>Subject: hearing lostTo: Neurosarcoidosis@ yahooDate: Saturday, September 26, 2009, 1:33 AM HAS ANY MEMBER LOST THERE HEARING WHILE DEALING WITH NEUROSARCOIDOSIS? Guest guest
Connie, A close friend of mine was having severe tinnitus with vertigo and dizziness. Good ol Kaiserd did every test in the book, and had no answers. We finally figured out that he had a severe systemic candidis infection, and he dropped all refined sugars, glutein, and started a regime of probiotics-- he still has a bit of dizziness, but both the tinnitius and vertigo have cleared up. His also was partly caused by his huge doses of Methadone he was taking for pain-- his docs weren't looking at his meth toxicity levels-- so the build up had become a huge problem. Tinnitus is a side effect of methadone toxicity. I am becoming more and more convinced that so much of what we are suffering from is nutrition defiency, and as I'm making the changes, I am feeling better. I know my heart is already compromised beyond repair, as our my lungs- but if I can keep the other parts of me in a place of even partial "balance" then I'll keep making these small changes. What they do recommend for tinnitus is "white noise"-- tapes that have an ocean background noise of waves coming in is nice, and it can easily be put into a cd player and programmed to play all night if necessary. Have they done neuro tests to see if it is the cranial nerve that controls hearing? Guest guest
has issues with hearing. Hers is not so much a hearing loss, but a processing problem. There granulomas in the brain have affected the hearing centers. Hearing aids will not help nor in our case will surgery. Guest guest
Matt, I'm in the same boat as . There are granulomas along the auditory nerves, and so no hearing aids... I have just recently invested in TV EARS-- via Costco. They are great when I want to be up watching tv at 2am because I can't sleep. I can have the volume on the tv way down, and turn up the TV EARS-- and can still sleep. I'm considering the ones that amplify sound-- I tried the cheap earbud ones for $14-- it was a waste. I get a kick out of the commercial, where they state that you can hear the "wildlife" long before seeing it-- animals hearing is almost always so much better than humans-- I suspect that the deer will hear me and be long gone-- with those amplified human sounds-- it'll be a fog horn to them. LOL! Give a hug from me, Tracie NS Co-owner/moderator To: Neurosarcoidosis Sent: Thu, November 5, 2009 3:45:53 PMSubject: Re: Fw: hearing lost has issues with hearing. Guest guest
I like the TV EARS-- and yep, they help alot. There is something that looks like a Bluetooth that they advertise that is supposed to help with room sound-- and conversation. The other thing that may help is to get ahold of your phone company-- they have phones thru their ADA departments that can really help the hearing impaired, at no cost! Just call and ask for the dept that deals with people with hearing disabilities-- the phones are really nice-- with great speakers or even screens where she can read what is being said!
