Guest guest Posted July 24, 2003 Report Share Posted July 24, 2003 When the info about cauterizing and scarring was posted, there was a flurry of replies stating " their " docs had advised against that bcuz it is very risky. I did ask Dr. Oh about a silastic band to tighten the stoma now, but he said bcuz of the placement so near the esophagus by the original surgeon, there is not even room to place a band on it. There is less than 1 centimeter of space.
