Guest guest
, I am not post-op, but have dieted my whole life. There might be some truth behind what she is saying. Sometimes when your calorie intake is too low your body might try and hold onto everything you are ingesting to stay alive. And with an increase in calories your body might decide to let some of what it is storing go. I know that sounds crazy, but it is worth a try. It just might work. Guest guest
Thanks Dora. That's pretty much what the nutrionist says but the surgeon would like me to stay at 700-800 calories forever. I've heard at our local support meeting that the surgeons with BC are really being pressured to 'show good results' to be able to keep doing the surgeries. My nutrionist says that its not reasonable or healthy for someone my height 5'9 " to restrict yourself to 700-800 calories for the rest of my life. That's why I wonder how the people that are eating around 1,000 calories a day or a little more are doing. > , > > I am not post-op, but have dieted my whole life. Guest guest
My nutrionist also said my goal should be around 1,000 or my body will eventually go into starvation mode, especially with all the extra exercise I'm getting now compared to before my surgery. I didn't walk or workout at all before my surgery and I checked fitday and you're right it does burn off calories!!! So I guess I can see why 700-800 calories is not enough for long-term and with exercise. Any other feedback out there?
